Welcome to Sevess, a world of turmoil and wonder. One look at the skyline will tell half that story. Unlike our own on Earth, the ground does not disappear over the horizon line, but rather a strip of land rises up to dominate the view, fully looping around to the other side, forming a ring which the inhabitants live on the inside of.

In the centre of this ring is The Eye, the source of daylight for the surface. A moon-like sphere with a large aperture on one side, which rotates slowly, sweeping it's gaze clockwise and shining arcane light upon the land.

Turn your head to the black expanse off this world's edge, beyond the ring, and you will see the Novem. Nine stars - the only other lights in the sky - which spin their slow orbital dance around the largest and most difficult to see object in the sky. The Spot.

The Spot is not seen, but rather, its existence is made clear by The Eye and the Novem. It is an expanse where one might expect a sun in a typical solar system, but it does not output light. The Novem and Eye are linked to it by tendrils of arcane energy called the Locus Borealis, and the Novem are occasionally eclipsed by it when their orbits bring them onto the opposite side from Sevess.

All of this, to the inhabitants of Sevess, is as normal as the sun, moon, and stars to us.
